I was delighted to be chosen to by Katie and Scott to photograph their Leeds Town Hall wedding and reception at The Leeds Club.
Katie got ready at The Mansio Suites in the city centre with her sister Lucie, parents and daughter. With hair and make-up by the talented Kirstie Jenkins Make-up Artist.
I’m always really excited to see what my bride’s are wearing, and Katie’s wedding dress was elegant, sophisticated and just perfect for her with a high neckline and low back.
Leeds Town Hall
I’ve photographed many weddings at Leeds town hall, it’s a beautiful building but is suffering from old age and currently clothed with scaffolding and banners. When I met Scott and Best Man Stuart, I used the banners as a unique backdrop to their portraits.
Katie soon arrived with her father and daughter and went to speak to the registrar whilst Scott and the guests took their places in the Albert Room. The ceremony was beautiful with two readings.
After the ceremony, the group shots were taken very quickly because it was so cold and Katie was freezing! We hopped in their wedding car to a quieter part of Leeds city centre for the bride and groom portraits, enjoying some dreamy directional sunlight, highlighting the orange and yellows of the Autumn leaves.
The Leeds Club reception
The Leeds Club is a unique city wedding venue very close to the train station. It’s central location was the reason Scott and Katie chose this venue as many of the guests had travelled a fair distance to attend the wedding, with Scott’s family being from Ireland and many of the other guests travelling from various parts of the UK.
When we arrived, they had a magician to entertain their guests and a children’s play area to keep everyone entertained.
Before the wedding breakfast was served, speeches and toasts took place. Best Man Stuart had everyone in stitches!
Katie and Scott had lots of sparklers as it was bonfire night but as it was such a cold day decided against a sparkler arch. Instead we went for a long exposure sparkler shot with the help of the bridesmaid and best man.
It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this wedding, Katie and Scott are very much in love and I wish them a happy future together as husband and wife.
